PROGRESSIVE LENSES

One Lens, Every Distance

Progressive lenses divide the lens into three optical zones — distance on top, intermediate in the middle, near at the bottom — and your eye learns to find each one naturally.

3-Zone Optical Design

3-Zone Optical Design

Distance on top, intermediate in the middle, near at the bottom. Your eye finds the right zone naturally — no head tilting, no switching glasses.

No Visible Line

No Visible Line

Unlike bilifocals, progressives have a clean, modern appearance. No visible dividing line — but you see like you're not wearing multifocals.

Smooth Transitions

Smooth Transitions

No image jump when shifting between zones. Free-form digital surfacing keeps the power change gradual. Individual adaptation time may vary.

Designed for Presbyopia

Engineered for adults 40+ who need different powers for different distances. Read a menu, check a phone, look across the room — designed to work in one lens. Consult your eye care professional.

Free-Form Digital, Personalized for You

Every IRISHARP Progressive Lens is cut on a free-form digital surfacing machine — the same technology used in high-end custom lenses. The back surface of the lens is precision-milled to your exact prescription, frame choice, and wearing position. Result: wider clear zones, faster adaptation, sharper vision at every distance. Standard progressive lenses use pre-molded blanks; IRISHARP lenses are made for you.

Progressive vs Bifocal

Why progressive is the modern choice for presbyopia.

Feature Bifocal Progressive

Image jump Yes — disorienting shift No — smooth transition
Intermediate zone No Yes — computer distance
Number of focal zones 2 (distance + near) 3 (distance + intermediate + near)
Adaptation period 1–2 days 1–2 weeks
Aesthetic Dated, line visible Modern, line hidden

How Progressive Lenses Work

Around age 40, the natural lens inside your eye starts to stiffen. Reading fine print gets harder. You hold your phone further away. Working at a computer becomes a strain. This is presbyopia — and it happens to everyone, regardless of whether you wore glasses before. The fix used to be bilifocals: a lens with two zones separated by a visible line. Distance on top, near on the bottom. But bilifocals have a hard image jump, no intermediate zone for computers, and a dated look.

Progressive lenses add a third zone — intermediate — in a seamless gradient between distance and near. There's no line, no jump, no "this is where one power ends and another begins." Your eye learns to tilt slightly down for reading, look straight for distance, and raise the chin for the computer. The power change is so smooth you stop noticing it within a week or two.

All progressive lenses work on this principle. What sets IRISHARP apart is free-form digital surfacing — the back of the lens is precision-cut to your exact prescription, your chosen frame, and even how you wear it (closer to your face or further away). Standard progressives use pre-molded blanks; IRISHARP lenses are made for you. Discuss with your eye care professional to confirm the best fit for your prescription.
